Talent management and organizational performance: applying the amo theory

The purpose of this study is to advance an understanding the nature and scope talent management practice in unique context developing economy Pakistan, identify relationship between organizational performance applying AMO theory. This research was exploratory adopted a case methodology within three leading Pakistani banks, Karachi (Sindh). A total twenty two in-depth interviews were carried out with senior HR managers. All fully transcribed analysed thematically. Evaluating interview data from commercial findings show substantial differences conceptualisation when compared Western orthodoxy. empirical revealed that banking organisations reflected specific, path dependent historical, political social legacy which viewed through conceptual lens qualifications experience had significant influence on sourcing deploying talent. For managers, it should be review process conceptualising their organisation, challenge any preconceived assumptions about consider alternative approaches exclusive approach order right can identified, developed deployed for competitive advantage.
